About

The freezer is the point.

Batch cooking usually fails in the same two places: nobody writes down what is in the container, and nobody knows how to reheat it properly once it is frozen solid. The Cooked Meal treats both as part of the recipe rather than as something you work out later at 7pm.

How we test

Every batch is cooked at least twice on an ordinary home stove. Then we freeze it exactly as the recipe instructs, leave it at least two weeks, and reheat it from frozen. The reheat times published here come from that test, not from an estimate.

The freezer label

Every batch includes a label block written out in full - contents, portion count, how long it keeps, and the reheat method - designed to be copied straight onto the container in marker. It takes thirty seconds and it is the difference between a useful freezer and a drawer of anonymous blocks.

What we will tell you honestly

Not everything freezes. Cream splits, potatoes go grainy, fresh herbs turn black, and some textures never recover. Where an ingredient does not survive a freezer we hold it back until serving and say why, rather than quietly including it and letting you find out.

About the domain

TheCookedMeal.store is a recipe website. Nothing is sold here, there is no store, no checkout, no orders and no affiliate links in our recipes. Where advertising appears it is clearly marked and served by third-party ad networks rather than by us.

Who writes this

Home cooks with an ordinary freezer compartment, not a chest freezer or a blast chiller. If a batch survives a normal home freezer for a month and reheats well, it goes up.
