Cook a Saturday.
Eat for a month.
The Cooked Meal is a small collection of batch recipes for American home kitchens — each one cooked once, portioned, frozen and labelled, with reheat instructions we tested from frozen rather than guessed at.
Three batches worth a Saturday
Every batch comes with a freezer label written out in full — contents, portions, how long it keeps, and exactly how to reheat it — so future you is not guessing at an unmarked container.
Ginger Scallion Chicken Meatballs
Forty small meatballs, light and gingery, that go from freezer to plate in under twenty minutes.
Roasted Red Pepper Tomato Soup
Blended, dairy-free until serving, and the single most reliable thing in this list to freeze.
Spinach Ricotta Freezer Lasagna
Built in two small pans instead of one big one — eat one this week, bake the other straight from frozen.
How this kitchen works
Tested twice, then tested frozen
We cook each batch twice, freeze it properly, and reheat it after at least two weeks in the freezer before publishing the reheat times.
A label you can copy
Contents, portion count, how long it keeps, and the reheat method — written out ready to go straight onto the container in marker.
We say what does not freeze
Some things turn grainy, watery or rubbery in a freezer. Where that applies we say so and hold that ingredient back until serving.
One freezer batch, every Saturday.
